Jennings County Youth Foundation has supported the youth through the following activities and programs in our community.
JCYF led the initiative to bring Boys & Girls Club programming to Jennings County. We raised $15,000 for BCG to begin programming in the schools in January of 2019 before handing it over to BGC of Seymour.
BCG of Jennings Co
We began our Affordable Christmas program in 2014. This program empowers families to provide Christmas for their children by giving them a hand up, not a handout. In 2020, we helped families get Christmas for 1,538 children.
Our kids camp provides an affordable, week-long camp experience for youth in Jennings County. We offer children a chance to participate in a wide variety of activities and have mentoring opportunities for the older youth.
Summer Kids Camp
We have purchased $3,000 worth of snacks for the elementary schools at the beginning of the year since 2019. We also donated $1,000 to the Jennings County Swim Club in 2020 so they could purchase equipment.

Thanksgiving for Everyone is a program that we started in 2019 to provide families in Jennings County with a FREE, hot Thanksgiving dinner. We provided 518 dinners to families in 2020 that were picked up drive-thru style due to the pandemic.
JCYF proudly supports the county park through events and donating. We donated $1,694.50 to Muscatatuck County Park for toddler equipment in 2017. The following year, we donated $1,230 to the park.
In 2017, our organization donated $500 to cover the cost of recreational activities for families in need of assistance. We also partner with the park each summer to host our Summer Kids Camp as well as other events from time to time.
North Vernon Park
During the pandemic, we passed out $57,548.40 worth of milk and $52,128.92 worth of food thanks to donations from Prairie Farms, Good Samaritan, and Rose Acres. We also purchased school supplies for 180 children and Christmas for 185 children.
Help during Pandemic
A van was anonymously donated to us in 2013. After 3 years of use, we decided to pay it forward. Six youth servicing organizations competed for the van. The board voted to determine a winner. STEPS All Star Dance team happily accepted the van.
We have numerous other events and fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to support the youth in Jennings County. We are hoping to expand our youth programming in the future and provide even more activities for children in Jennings County.
